Tube Stomach Surgery

Generally, this procedure is considered an option for patients who do not choose either the Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Band or Laparoscopic Roux-en Y Gastric Bypass.

This surgery, like the others, reduces the size of the stomach. It is performed laparoscopically by forming a small and tube-shaped stomach, approximately the size of a banana, using a stapler. Removal of a part of the stomach provides the patient to feel less hunger and to consume less food, thus providing a feeling of fullness. This process does not cause any problems in digestion and nutrient absorption. The consumed food passes through the different parts of the digestive system in its usual natural order and is thus completely absorbed within the body. In this process, which utilizes your own natural pyloric valve, which controls the discharge of nutrients from your body to the parts after the stomach, the average patient gets rid of approximately 70% of their excess weight.
